Google Pixel Drop rollout Android 16: The Biggest Update Ever?

Android 16 comes with many powerful features that claim to make the user experience better than ever.

Android 16 Launch: The Biggest Update Ever?

On June 10, 2025, the stable version of Android 16 was finally released, and currently Pixel users are the first ones to get it. This new update is currently rolling out to users of the Pixel series and will also be available for other brands like Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi and Motorola in the coming weeks. This time the company has tried to make Android more smart, secure and user-friendly.

Which devices will get the update from recent Google Pixel Drop rollout?

After the recent Google Pixel drop, the biggest thing about this update is that it supports a lot of Pixel devices, from Pixel 6, 6a, 7, 8, 8a to Pixel 9 series and Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet. Apart from this, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 to S22 series, Z Fold and Flip series, and the latest models of companies like OnePlus, Xiaomi, Motorola and Nothing are also going to get this update soon. However, users of these brands may have to wait a bit as the beta version is currently running for them.

What’s New In Android 16?

Android 16 comes with many powerful features that claim to make the user experience better than ever. First of all, talking about Live Updates, now like the iPhone, real-time tracking will be seen in Android as well. For example, suppose you have ordered food or booked a taxi, then its information will now be visible directly in the lock screen, notification bar and status bar. This will not require you to open the app again and again.

The second big thing is security. Advanced Protection Mode has been given in Android 16 which helps to protect your phone from scam calls, unwanted apps and fake links. Features like locking USB port, asking for permission before factory reset and lockdown via PIN will now be inbuilt in the phone.

Combination Of Accessibility And New Technology

In this update, special attention has been given to the convenience of the users. Now LE Audio support will also be available in Android 16, which will benefit people using hearing aids. Apart from this, high contrast text, notification privacy and user interface have been made more accessible.

Material You design has also got a new look. Now dynamic color themes, new animations and expressive design elements will be seen. Although some features will come with QPR1 i.e. Android 16.1 at the end of the year, but even for now the user interface is much better than before.

Integration Of Gemini AI

The most interesting feature of Android 16 is its AI integration. Google’s Gemini will now be deeply integrated into your phone’s system, so that you will be able to order food, book a cab or reply to messages with voice commands within the apps itself. This will make Android more smart and responsive.

New Information Related To Battery And Health

Another great feature is to check battery health. Now you can go to the settings and see how much percent your phone’s battery has faltered and when it would be right to replace it. Now vaccination and health records have also been added to the Android Health Connect API, which will make health related apps more useful than before.

When Will You Get This Update?

If you are a Pixel user, you will get this update directly in Settings > System > Software Update. On the other hand, Samsung, Xiaomi and OnePlus users may have to wait till July or August. Currently, the developer beta version has been released for these brands.

The launch of Android 16 is one of the biggest tech news of this year. Google has added all the features that users have been demanding for a long time, whether it is live updates, use of AI or caution regarding security. If you have not updated yet and are using a Pixel phone, especially after a recent Google Pixel drop,  then go to the settings immediately and check. This wait is going to end soon for the rest of the users as well.
