iOS 26 Beta 6 Released: Camera Classic Mode Returns, New Feature, New Ringtone

Apple has rolled out iOS 26 beta 6 for iPhones on the developer beta release. It seems Apple is offering the final round of refinements ahead of the public release, which is expected next month. All registered developer users can download and install iOS 26 beta software using the Software Update under the Settings.

Key Highlights of iOS 26 Beta 6:

  • New Ringtone Alert:

A new ringtone titled “Little Bird” has been added to the sound library.

  • Camera Setting Update:

The option to revert to the classic swipe direction in Camera settings has been removed. So now the camera swipe will work as it did before iOS 26 in the same old way.

  • Performance Improvement:

It is observed that there is a significant performance improvement, particularly when opening Apps. The time taken to open the app is much faster than the previous release.

Also, some other new changes and updates fix most of the bugs, making the build more stable.

Apple has steadily introduced the Liquid Glass design in all iOS 26 Beta releases, giving a final touch before public release. Each release has significantly improved the build stability and performance of the new iOS 26.

  • Beta 2: Improved legibility in Control Center and enhanced accessibility.
  • Beta 3: Added opaqueness to tab bars and new wallpaper tones
  • Beta 4: Reverted the opaqueness change in some places and reintroduced Notification Center summaries for news and entertainment content
  • Beta 5: A New “Classic Mode Switching” toggle button was introduced to revert camera swipe to classic mode, which is now reversed in Beta 6.

Each Beta release shows the continuation of Apple’s effort in bringing iOS 26 toward a stable build for public release.
