It’s time to upgrade your Windows 8 systems to Windows 8.1 as Microsoft has released its long-awaited Windows 8.1 globally for download. Windows 8 users can get the Windows 8.1 update for free from the Windows Store. Windows 8.1 would also be available in stores by tomorrow with pre-installed windows on devices and packaged DVD product copy at retail stores.
According to Microsoft blog post
“Windows 8.1 brings a variety of new features and improvements to Windows 8 that we think people will really enjoy. We listened to your feedback and are delivering many of the improvements you asked for.”
Microsoft has also arranged a contest starting from today until next 8 days, where users can tweet and share their Start screen after updating from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1. The Winner would be selected randomly and will receive a $10 promotional Windows gift card. The whole thing about the start screen contest sounds a bit strange in the way Microsoft is trying to promote using Twitter, somehow it does seem interesting.
